Have you always wanted to learn basic gardening skills but don’t know where to start? Would you enjoy supporting a project that will directly impact the Nashville community this year? If so, look no further than GROW!

Join us as we prepare for another great season of learning together at the GROW food forest park! Tasks will vary and may include: planting spring veggies and flowers, bed preparation, hardscape work, light construction (compost bins and plant trellises), spreading wood mulch on pathways, protecting newly planted trees, planting additional trees and shrubs, and more! There's always something new to learn when you volunteer at GROW!

*There is no running water or electricity at GROW. Volunteers should bring their own water bottles and charge their phones before arrival. There is also no shelter from severe weather at GROW. In the event of severe weather on a scheduled volunteer day (lightning, impending severe thunderstorm, or tornado watch/advisory) this event will be cancelled. Volunteers should wear protective clothing appropriate for outdoor work including: pants to protect legs, closed-toed shoes, breathable layered shirts for comfort in outdoor weather and protection from sun/brambles/stinging insects.

Please note: Volunteers should park in the small GROW parking lot, located at the Northern edge of Two Rivers Park near the Stones River Greenway. Entrance to our roadway is across from the dog park (look for the green balusters.) You must drive between the green posts and follow the roadway to the left to find our parking area. From there, it is a short 3 minute walk past the gate to the worksite where one of our volunteer coordinators will meet you.

Covid-19 Guidelines:
Due to the ongoing reality of the pandemic, we ask that all volunteers follow CDC guidelines by wearing a facemask and practicing social distancing while on the premises. You will be asked to answer questions regarding possible exposure to Covid-19. We ask that if you are experiencing symptoms or have any reason to believe you may have been exposed you abstain from attending the event out of concern for the well being of others.
