A Partnership for Community and Conservation
At GROW Enrichment, our mission is to connect people to the land through hands-on education, ecological restoration, and community collaboration. One of the most joyful ways we live that mission is through our beloved goat herd, now an essential part of our conservation work and educational programming.
A New Chapter with McGavock High School
We’re thrilled to announce a growing partnership with McGavock High School's Veterinary Science Program. Just down the road from Two Rivers Park, McGavock students will now have the opportunity to learn about goat care firsthand, gaining practical experience in animal husbandry, health, and the role of targeted grazing in ecological stewardship.
This partnership is more than just educational, it’s a way for students to actively contribute to the health of our park’s ecosystem. Our goats are integral to our invasive species removal efforts, particularly in the lower forest where they help manage overgrowth and restore balance to native plant communities.
What’s Ahead
Through this partnership, we’ll be:
Offering goat care education in partnership with GROW volunteers
Utilizing the goats for targeted grazing to support forest restoration
Hosting public workshops and events centered on sustainable land management and animal stewardship
Launching a Sponsor-a-Goat program so community members can directly support this work
We’re excited about what this partnership means for the future of urban agriculture, youth education, and regenerative ecology in Nashville.
